Genevieve Say is an independent dance artist, performer, choreographer and movement director based in the UK. She gained a place on One Dance UK’s Future Leaders mentor scheme, and was privileged enough to receive mentorship from Jude Kelly MBE. She was a recipient of the DanceXchange Choreography Award in Birmingham and in 2021 was shortlisted for the AWA women in dance award. Genevieve graduated in 2006 from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with First class BA(Hons) in Dance and Performance. Since then Genevieve has been working professionally nationally and internationally bringing dance and theatre to as many people as possible.

Genevieve was Artistic Director of The Mustdashios, a comedy dance duo from the north who toured a flurry of sketch shows at Duckie (The RVT, London), Contact Theatre (Manchester), Sadler Wells (London) and on a barge somewhere in Battersea. Genevieve has created several ensemble and solo works including 5ive, Thick Skin, An Illustrated Guide to the Stand and Ride, Blind Faith, The Locarno and Chips. She works with community groups as part of her practice with a particular interest in co-curation and participant led projects. Alongside this she has been leading dance and theatre workshops for over 20 years with a range of groups.

Commissioned by Pavilion Dance, Le Club Social is Genevieve’s most recent work. A fantasy club co-created with a community cast of local dance floor lovers aged 21 to 78 years old, drawing on the shared stories and memories of the Bournemouth and Poole club and social dance scene from across the decades:
