Having grown up on the South Coast of England, Rachel King has dedicated her career to supporting, championing and developing young dancers in her local area.

Following her own training in LA, New York and across Europe, Rachel formed local street dance company Shake, to create a homebase for dancers, where they could access high quality training and opportunities to perform and compete. Over the past 19 years Shake’s performance credits have included performing for royalty at St James Palace, Move It, Breakin’ Convention, The Greatest Dancer and opening the Floyd Mayweather European tour. Shake have proudly won many UK titles and competed in several international events, including winning the UDO Super Crew world title.

With an unwavering commitment to her local community Rachel has been honoured to be involved with Pavilion Dance from the very start. Rachel was one of the first teachers added to the studio timetable, created performances for the opening events and produced the venues first hip-hop weekender. Rachel and Shake have continued to work with us leading classes for local schools, being a part of the annual Dancing Terraces event and championing the youth performance opportunities.

With a talented team of teachers and creatives now supporting her work with Shake, Rachel is determined to give as many people as possible the opportunity to love learning to dance whilst connecting with others and improving their wellbeing. She is currently leading Pavilion Dance’s Children In Need Project, Breakin’ Free, working with an inspiring group of young people in Bournemouth in weekly dance classes, where fun, self-belief and community is at the heart of every session.
