Working lives have changed: how we do it, where we do it and who we do it with.
PDSW Team Away Days are a response to the effect working from home has had on businesses and their staff, and aim to provide leaders with a unique and creative way of actively supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of those working both at home and in the office.
Step out for the day with your teams to:
Re-connect: Nurture established and new relationships with a day of creativity and collaboration
Re-boot : Reset your minds, bodies and team dynamics
Re-energise: Get your mojo back! Rekindle that team spirit – life may have changed, but let new strength drive you forward.
Blame it on the Boogie! “Dad dancing” at a family do, a shuffle to your earworm at the photocopier, or hitting the club dancefloor: we boogie, we feel good!
Dance is for all PDSW passionately believe in no barriers to dance. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned pro, our experienced dance teachers will work to everyone’s skill and fitness level.
All Team Away Days are fully accessible and adaptable to all needs.
About PDSW Team Away Days
This is a unique dance experience, a whole uplifting day of music, creativity and dancing! You’ll be welcomed by our dance teachers and FOH team for coffee and introductions, before heading to our theatre for ice breaking activities and a gentle warm up to start.
You’ll discover the basics of your dance style* then in your teams you’ll work collaboratively to create your own moves, a creative opportunity to really represent yourselves. After lunch it gets competitive, with a dance battle in the theatre to win the Disco Ball Trophy! Each of your pieces will then be added to the whole dance, which you’ll perform on our stage with full lights, music and props: this is not for an audience, this is your own chance to shine! Walk away from your day feeling connected, energised and invigorated, with a whole new shared experience!
*What’s your style? Choose from a number of popular dance styles such as Bollywood, Latin, Dance the Musicals, Swing, Charleston or Street/HipHop – call us to discuss the moves for your team.
PDSW get people dancing! Transforming communities through dance is at the heart of everything we do. PDSW has a team of dedicated, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, a 178 seater theatre, 2 dance studios, 2 dressing rooms, 2 changing rooms and a foyer bar, all fully accessible and only a stone’s throw from the beautiful Bournemouth beach.

Why Dance? A recent report by the Royal Society for Public Health (“Disparity Begins at Home (Feb 2021)) indicates that working from home can lead to people developing health or health-related issues, with the most common including: social isolation from not seeing colleagues, getting less exercise, musculoskeletal problems, and disrupted sleep.
tackle isolation and loneliness by bringing colleagues together in a warm and welcoming environment, facilitated by knowledgeable and experienced staff, to enjoy a day of dance and music
improve communication and collaborative skills with a blend of taught choreography, facilitator-led group work and opportunities to let creativity thrive
contribute to physical and mental wellbeing by being active, energised and gently challenged.
Don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what the our contestants from our annual fundraiser, Business Come Dancing, say about dancing with PDSW:
“ I can already say that after 2 lessons I LOVE it. For those hours you are in the lesson everything else ceases to matter and I feel I am truly ‘in the moment’, I leave feeling great each and every time. This can only be beneficial both to my physical and mental health.”
Sarah Abbott from Sarah Abbott Gardens, BCD contestant
“What a fabulous experience it’s been, the aim was always to raise money for PDSW and a bit of guilty pleasure with outcome !! It was a real eye opener to see all the different styles and the passion and dedication everyone showed. Well done PDSW, guests all saying they had fantastic evening.”
Steve Reilly from Beales, BCD contestant
“When I was dancing at BCD I think it is the happiest I have ever been.”
